Problem: The door did not open all the way and did not fully close. I performed the travel limit and force adjustments, but that did not resolve the problem. I called Precision Door in the morning and the technician (Bill A.) came the same day. Bill did a thorough troubleshooting procedure, found, and repaired a mechanical problem.

Matt quickly diagnosed the problem (door did not open fully), did the necessary service, and re-programmed the control panel for the correct up-and-down travel. I am very satisfied with Matt's service and when I asked (curious) about the cause of the problem, Matt thoroughly explained what had happened. I feel confident that any problem, or even a suspected problem if something isn't operating just right,will be taken care of promptly and properly by Precision.

Brad Buzzelli assisted Bill Adamini because Bill had not installed an 8500 opener before. Brad and Bill did a good job installing the opener and a new door. I rate Precision with four stars because of poor "communication" between Precision and the customer. I did not get quotes from any other door/opener companies because I was impressed with your web site and you had a good review (although customers noted that are more expensive) on Angie's List. I bought a new opener (8500) and a door. The communication problems: (1) Paul quoted the job, but it was 48 hours until I received the email quote confirmation. (2) It took seven days for Precision to get a delivery schedule from your supplier. (3) When Bill arrived to install the opener and door, he discovered that Paul had not measured correctly and, thus, after Bill's new measurements, a different opener had to be ordered (the 3595). (4) One week later, Precision tells me that neither the 3595 nor its new replacement (8587) are available.This required yet another (the third time) opener to be ordered (the 8500), with the price going up with each new opener. Additional comments: (a)Your technicians should know more than just three opener models. Only after looking at Liftmaster's website and talking with Liftmaster Customer Service did I learn that my situation of limited ceiling area for a belt or chain drive might have had an alternative solution (splice a belt or tilt the rail). I had wanted a belt drive. (b) Upon completing the job, Bill provided me with an owners manual for the opener, but no manual for the door. I had to call Precision to request a manual for the door. Bill, a week later, brought me a door manual from another job. The manual was dirty (as though it had been on a muddy floor). (c) After installing the opener and door, Bill returned to correct a slight problem with door weather stripping. No major problem, but another "Gosh, it didn't go right the first time." PS. Although I initially wanted a belt drive, I am pleased with the 8500 (even though I don't need all the high-tech features). I should note that Paul had suggested the 8500, but at that time, I did not want to pay more for the 8500 and all of its high-tech features which I did not (do not) want.
